Since the dawn of history, the craving of the mankind to learn and see what lies beyond the horizon has been irresistible. Once, the ancient Greek philosopher and the founder of the geography, Aristotle, told his students: "Go and see". Since then, the mankind has arduously used any means to explore our planet.

Thus, Marco Polo described Asia in his Book of the Marvels of the World; Christopher Columbus became one of the first European explorers, who reached America; the Wright brothers designed the airplane; Thor Heyerdahl with his five companions went on a wood raft Kon-Tiki from Peru to Polynesia on a scientific expedition, which exactly reconstructed the path of the ancient Incas; Jacques-Yves Cousteau and Emile Gagnan invented a safe and effective aqualung; the Apollo mission landed on the Moon...

Perhaps, Albert Camus, a famous writer and Nobel prize winner in literature, was close to solving the mystery of this passion, as he insisted that: "Travel, which is like a greater and a graver science, brings us back to ourselves". 

Once we step out of home, leave aside fears and look at the world with eyes wide open, we will never be the same again. And no matter how it happens: whether we walk, fly by plane, sail by ship, read or imagine. Since then we are great explorers, discoverers and philosophers.

That is why the GlobalList team, driven by a travelling passion, launches this project. All materials, photos, reviews and impressions that are published on the pages of our magazine are gathered by Global list authors all around the world and are authentic, created especially for Global list readers.
